What happened to Neal McCoy?
The Neal McCoy concert scheduled for the Oil Palace in Tyler didn’t happen. The event, set for Friday night, Nov. 23, had been advertised at TradersGuideofTexas.com and elsewhere.
The Big Sandy & Hawkins Journal is reporting that Mr. McCoy, an internationally popular country singer who lives in Longview, came down with laryngitis and couldn’t keep the date.
The concert would have been a fund raiser for the Big Sandy Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club.

“I am so disappointed to not get the opportunity to see all my friends and family in Tyler,” Mr. McCoy was reported as saying. “My giving anything less than 100 percent for any show just wouldn’t feel right, especially at home. I hope y’all will all come out and see us on our rescheduled date of March 23 at the Oil Palace.”
The Big Sandy and Hawkins paper reported that ticket buyers may call the Oil Palace at 903-566-2122 for refunds and more information.
